Meet Dr Henry O’Callaghan
Dr Henry O’Callaghan began his dental journey at the University of Stellenbosch in 1996, later expanding his experience in the United Kingdom, where he practiced for several years before returning home to South Africa. On his return, he went on to work in Melkbosstrand, Western Cape, before establishing his own dental clinic in Malmesbury in September 2025.
With a special interest in treating children and teenagers, Dr O’Callaghan is known for his calm, reassuring approach. He believes strongly in conservative, minimally invasive dentistry — always aiming to preserve natural teeth and build trust with his patients, especially young ones. His gentle manner helps children feel at ease in the dental chair, ensuring positive experiences from an early age.
For more complex cases, Dr O’Callaghan also offers treatment under conscious sedation, and when necessary, works under general anaesthetic at Blaauwberg Hospital. This allows him to care for patients with diverse needs, from routine dentistry to challenging treatments.
Outside of his professional life, Henry is proud to call Malmesbury home, where he lives with his wife Lana and their son Liam. Grounded in family and community, he brings the same values of care, patience, and trust into his practice every day.
